    Our Travel Industry Sales Manager is responsible for the development and growth of the travel agent market. You will handle direct sales including consortia, non-consortia travel agents, and tour operators. The Travel Industry Sales Manager will work closely with Group Sales to grow revenue for Canyon Ranch from the travel agency market.


    You will be responsible for designing and implementing business plans and sales strategies that ensure the growth of sales from the travel agent market. This will include preparing and executing action plans for the Travel Industry Sales Market to ensure effective searches of sales leads and prospects. You will initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate identified key markets, and participate in the development and implementation of marketing plans.


    The Travel Industry Sales Manager is responsible for growth and development of travel agency business and generating revenue into the property. You will effectively develop and manage relationships with travel agencies. This means meeting or exceeding all activity standards for proposing calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and production. You will provide timely feedback to the Director of Sales regarding ongoing sales efforts. You will also keep accurate records of all sales activities and work closely with Group Sales and Reservations on travel agency needs.


    This position will entail you traveling regularly into assigned markets, making direct sales calls, and conducting presentations. You will be speaking publicly at events when warranted, and conducting Webinars to reach home-based agents.


    You will need a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. (Or any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.)


    You will need 2-5 years' experience selling to the luxury travel agency market for a hotel, resort or destination spa.


    You will also need a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if you will ever transport guests, or an acceptable driving record if you will not transport guests.


    To be successful, you will need experience with luxury travel entities such as Virtuoso, Signature, and American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. You will need a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, as well as booking software such as Delphi, and be expert in the use of Social Media tools for sales. You need to be able to travel and work with on-property partners.
