Our Pastry Cooks are responsible for preparing baked goods for the Canyon Ranch menu according to Canyon Ranch guidelines. You will be responsible for preparing desserts and baked goods for the service period worked. As a member of the Canyon Ranch team, you will be expected to be clean, in uniform, responsible, flexible, and professional at all times. As a professional, you will store and handle food properly, following Health Department requirements. You will be preparing and arranging desserts and baked goods according to Canyon Ranch’s recipes, nutrition philosophy and quality of presentation. You will prepare and set-up assigned work stations as directed, and report and document any observed or known safety hazards, conditions, or unsafe practices/procedures to management immediately.
It is preferred that you have Serve Safe Certification. You will need to have at least one year of experience, preferably in production baking, and also one year of experience in baking and pastry. You will need to be familiar with the process and have an understanding of working with a large quantity of food.
You will need good knife skills, bread baking skills, and excellent knowledge of baking methods, measurement knowledge and equipment knowledge. You will be working independently and need to effectively communicate as a member of the Canyon Ranch Culinary Team.
You will need to have a cheerful, positive attitude when working with a variety of people and be able to work well under pressure. You will need to be flexible in working hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays. You will always be neat and clean in appearance.
